Youth League Rookie Season

Upward Flag Football Rookie Season Success!

Corri has been working alongside her fiancé, Henry, to start a local Upward Sports program. This is a youth sports ministry that hosts a variety of sports practices and games for youth while including devotionals at all events. Corri has been working on the management and marketing of the flag football program this past Summer! She has also been seen at many of the games, assisting with scoring and taking care of equipment and players’ needs. Upward Sports is an organization that Corri holds close as she participated as a child, playing basketball, soccer, and cheerleading.

The league consisted of four flag football teams, including boys and girls in 3rd – 6th grade. Each team had 2-3 volunteer coaches, and each game had at least two volunteer referees. At the league’s championship game, state representative, Haraz Ghanbari, made an appearance in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, participating in the coin toss for the game and interacting with players and constituents.

After a successful rookie season, Corri and Henry have plans to expand the program to include more players, teams, coaches, and playing fields. Congratulations to the Tigers on being the champions of our rookie season!

Thank you to all the coaches and referees who’ve dedicated their time to making all the practices and games happen. We were glad to provide our players with great role models. Thank you to all our players from all four teams for showing up and putting your all into these practices and games, and showing true sportsmanship at such a young age. And thank you to all our volunteers, our parents, and our community who showed up to cheer on our teams! The 2026 season may have concluded, but planning has already begun for next Summer!
